    Today I'm excited to feature The Wedding, yet another book written by the lovely Livy Jarmusch and the third installment in the ongoing Tales of Tarsurella series! Usually I stop at book number one or two, but this post marks the first series that I've fully reviewed. A Book Review: We Are Gathered Here

    For the first time on this blog, I'm reviewing a read from my top favorite author! Erynn Mangum's style of writing is super fun and enticing, and reading one of her novellas is a great way to see whether her more full-length works would be a good pick for you. The book I'm featuring is one of two novella collections she's published (the other one Christmas-themed), and they definitely have a Hallmark vibe to them.

Book Beginnings on Fridays/Friday 56: Love Comes Softly

   

    Hi! Happy New Year's Day, everyone, and welcome to my Friday post (the first one I've published since 2021 started). This one is the last in this month's Week of Book Memes, and kicks off my slow journey toward this site's first blogiversary! Yay!     Earlier this week, I participated in my fourth #IMWAYR, blogged about my top ten favorite books of 2020, and spotlighted Jen Calonita's newest read. Feel free to look at those if you're interested. If you've already looked at any of them, or took the time to comment, thank you so much! Every time I see that people are enjoying my posts it makes me so happy.

    This time, my Book Beginnings on Fridays/Friday 56 features a book rapidly becoming a classic. Especially if you read a lot of Christian fiction, you'll recognize this read as a pioneer in the literary world...ironic considering that it's set in American pioneer days! With a similar feel to the Little House books, it's no surprise that this well-written, emotional story has become a well-known Hallmark movie series.

However, I ended up reading this book and thought it was so good I wanted to share it instead. This was my first time reading a book by this author, and after reading this one I can't wait to read more from her.

A Book Review: The Silas Diary

    Hello, and I hope you are having a good week! Today's review is another one of my favorites. This was such a good read for me, not only because the narration, setting, and characters were well done, but because it gave me a new way to view the New Testament and my own Christian beliefs.

    As well as searching for new books to review, I've also been trying to figure out how to get more viewers. I would absolutely love it if this blog could become a way for you to find out what kind of books are worth your time, kind of like the media reviews on Plugged In and Common Sense Media. I would love any help you could give me, especially if you're someone who likes to keep up with a lot of book reviewing blogs or Bookstagram accounts.

    What "makes or breaks" a good book review or book blog for you? What books are you interested in? Would you want me to review books that are fresh off the market, will be released soon, or have been published for a couple of years but not gotten any attention? Do you want me to review more "classics'? What are some of the ways this blog could improve? Please let me know!

    This time I will try to make my review as spoiler-free as possible, while still navigating any issues to be aware of before reading. Since the discussion questions are meant to be used after reading, however, they will still run the risk of containing spoilers.

A Book Review: Off-Script and Over-Caffeinated

    Hey! Here's the second book review I promised you, since I didn't post anything last week. You can find my earlier review on a fun fairytale mashup here.

    This is my first YA/adult book review on here, and first romance genre book review on here. I believe that good romance writing doesn't include just the warm fuzzies and cuddly moments. It shows us two characters who we invite into our imaginations, in our minds, and who grow and change both apart and with each other. They strengthen each other instead of distracting each other. And, of course, the happily ever after endings that come with most romances are always nice. A well-written, Christian romance is even better (which describes the book here!). I hope that soon I'll get even more chances to promote these type of wonderful, worth-your-time books in this genre.
